Disneyland Eats & Treats Pt 1

Main Street USA

Come with me as we take a food tour around Disneyland. We’re going to start on Main Street USA and work our way counter clockwise around Disneyland to finish in Adventureland.

I’ll forewarn you, some of these places I visit on a regular basis when visiting Disneyland, and others not so much. I have divided these establishments into quick service and sit down restaurants. Disney’s mobile app gives you the capability to preorder your meal and set the time you would like to have it ready when you’re ready.

When you arrive within the time window you selected you let the cook staff know you’re there, by way of the mobile app, and they will start to prepare your food. The app will let you know your meal is ready. Be sure to take the device showing your order with you to the counter. Most places will use it to be sure you receive the proper order.

As you stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., you will find the following quick-service spots, perfect for grabbing a bite while soaking in the charm and nostalgia of Disneyland.  The Jolly Holiday and Bakery, Plaza Inn, Refreshment Corner, and Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen.

The Jolly Holiday offers sandwiches, soups, salads, beverages, and baked goods. My personal favorites are grilled cheese sandwiches, a bowl of tomato basil soup, a Coke, and a Matterhorn Macaroon. The Matterhorn macaroon is a coconut macaroon shaped like the peaks of its name sake, covered with frosting and sprinkles.

Step into a world of Disney magic at the Plaza Inn, where character breakfasts bring your favorite friends to the table. Buffet-style dining with table service is included, and reservations are required to join the fun. However, lunch and dinner are served using a quick service format.

The final quick service style dining experience is next door to the Jolley Holiday. The Refreshment Corner serves various hot dogs such as the Chili Potato Dog or the Mac & Cheese Dog. Or you can have your mac & cheese served in a sourdough bread bowl.

Tomorrow Land

Pizza Planet is one of two quick service diners found in Tomorrow Land. You will find the standard pizzas, however, you will also find specialty pizzas like the Haunted Heatwave Pizza topped with spice blushed sauce, mozzarella and pepperjack cheeses, Italian sausage, and a few other spicy goodness.

The menu also includes pastas and salads. It has been several years since I’ve visited Pizza Planet. I was not impressed with the food. I would have rather stayed home and had a frozen pizza from a local grocery store.

The Galactic Grill offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast offers chicken tenders and waffles, inspired from the southeastern part of the United States. A breakfast bagel is loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese, eggs, and chipotle aioli.

Lunch and dinner offers specialty burgers such as the First Order Specialty Burger which includes Angus beef, cheese, and bacon mayo. Another favorite is the Cheese-3PO Burger with cheese and Thousand Island dressing. Other favorites include salads, chicken sandwiches, and veggie wraps.

The Skyline Terrace is part of a dining package. It is a bento-box style meal with chilled foods and snacks. The menu is seasonal and is subject to change. Menu items include: Charcuterie-style sandwich, cheese and crackers, Waldorf salad, and desserts.

You will go to Galactic Grill to get your food and then take your meal upstairs to the terrace.
